From Frumpy to Fabulous in Three Weeks: Day Six...

Day Six: Hair

Rather than fussing with my hair, in recent months I have fallen back on the good ole' claw clip for my hair routine. Wash it, comb it, and pull it back. Not a great look for my loooong face.

Though it takes a bit more effort, the past two weeks, I've been wearing my hair down as much as possible and trying to wield a curling iron (just for curling under unruly bits!) at least a few mornings a week... mostly just the ones that involve me going out in public (though I'd like to get to the point where my hair looks nice everyday since it is important to me to look my best for my husband and children).

Find a simple hairstyle that is complimentary to your face, style, and life. Once you've got it, try to "do" your hair as much as you can. Having your hair look nice is an instant boost! Also, try to keep up with trims, cuts, and other maintenance you do for your hair. It will make it easier to style and will also make you feel great!

I love your blog and I love this post, I have looked everywhwere on the net to try to locate this book, " the singing house" by May Morgan Potter as was posted in one of your posts in 2006, do you or any of your readers have a copy or can help me locate one. I find it so inspiring and I would be so gratefull for your help.
P.S. As a coptic Orthodox, I feel very blessed to have the privilege of reading a blog of a fellow Orthodox. God Bless you and your family. You can email me at:

I'm following along with you on the frumpy to fabulous journey, so far so good. I had been putting off getting my hair trimmed, saw this today and ran out and did it.
I feel so much better, isn't that weird? Should be "look" better, right? The change starts on the inside, doesn't it? Thanks for the nudge.

I finally had my hair trimmed about two weeks ago, but I haven't made any other effort toward doing anything with it. A low ponytail is my (non)style of choice. I really need to work on this! It's going to take more than one day. ;-)
