There is Something Wrong with this Picture...

It is November 27th, the trees outside my window are either bare or nearly so, and it is so warm that my child is in her summer pajamas and the windows are open! Where is the nip in the air? Why am I not snuggled under a down blanket sipping hot cocoa by a roaring fire (not that we have a fireplace, but you get the point!)? It was nearly 70 degrees on Thanksgiving for goodness sake!

We are right there with you...we did a fire on Thanksgiving and ended up letting it go out..too hot here in Richmond! I am having a herd time focusing on my sock and mitten knitting for Christmas with all this heat!

Ohhh I so agree!! I LOVE winter and the last several years I feel like it has never come! Our windows have been open every night so far. It depresses me! I want a blizzard!

Yuck! It was very warm here (about 60) this morning but has dropped into the 40s by now.

It's pretty cold (for us, anyway) here.

Hey Emma,
I probably should look up the Saint Nicholas post to post this, but my computer time is so limited I put it here. Next weekend, my husband, my baby, and I are probably going to the Russian Orthodox church here in Colombia. They have a St. Nicholas celebration:

Do you know if I should wear my headcover?

Be loved and blessed,

Eva

Enjoy the warmth. I'm sure it will get cold soon enough. We had snow over Thanksgiving weekend, not fun to have to travel in, as a matter of fact, my sil slid on the ice and wrecked her car :( Yes, you should definitely enjoy the warmer weather!

Hi Eva!

To be honest, I am not sure how many women will have their heads covered. My guess is that there will be a few. If you are comfortable wearing a headcovering (I think that you mentioned that you did in your church), then by all means, go for it! If you feel uncomfortable at all, don't feel that you have to. Wearing one is usually a personal decision in OCA churches.

Thank you, Emma. I do it in my church, so I feel comfortable with it, but would not want to stick out like a sore thumb. I guess I will bring mine and see on the spot what to do. It could be that most of the celebration is not in the sanctuary, so we will see!

Be loved and blessed,

Eva
