Using the Nursery for Sleeping...

Up until this week, the nursery hasn't been used for sleeping... though we didn't mean to be a co-sleeping family, we became one and loved it! The time has come for at lease one of our peeps (this biggest, kicking one) to go to her own bed. God must be in agreement, because after we discussed the matter on Saturday night, Sunday morning we were offered this toddler bed from parishioners who found it in a house they just bought. The plan is to put the railing onto the crib and pop the baby in the nursery for at least part of the night too. We'll see how it goes!

Good luck! Keep us posted. Our crib just arrived and we'll see how that goes on our end. We'll keep it on our room until the baby's schedule is closer to our toddler's then we'll move them in together too!

Our kids "share" a room, but they don't sleep together in it yet. Their bedtimes do not coincide in a way that would make it possible for them to both fall asleep in the same room. Our little girl sleeps in a pack-n-play in my husband's office. I hope we will be able to transition her into her bedroom soon. Best wishes for your daughter's transition.

Each of my three boys slept differently. The first slept with us the first 9 or so months. Then transitioned to a toddler bed. The second was too squirmy to be in our bed much past 4 months so I put him on a futon in the kids' room and nursed him there but went back to my own bed when he was asleep. The third never needed to come in our bed at all. He slept in his carseat bucket until he was big enough to go in the crib. Because he sucked his thumb, he was sleeping all the way through the night by two months! All so different!

We became "accidental cosleepers" with our oldest boy, too, and have loved it. He now shares a room with his little brother (who doesn't mind the crib), but he often ends up in bed with us part-way through the night anyway. Funny, though - we came about our toddler bed in much the same way you did, right around when we needed him to be in one (when I started chemo). Yours is very cute!
