My New Favorite Kitchen Tool...

A few weeks ago I splurged at Babies'r'Us and bought this little baby food maker. I think that it is my absolute favorite baby item for the older baby. Instead of buying tons of little, expensive jars of baby food (Earth's Best, usually), I just spoon a little of whatever we're eating into the container and whir it up for our son. It takes about three minutes to set it up and make the food and I feel like my boy is eating like a little prince (though the finished product doesn't look too appetizing)!

We had Beef Stroganoff, by the way...

I have one that my mom used with us! I never used it with our first, but maybe I will this time!

I used a little chopper for JJ, got the idea from the lady I babysat for years ago. Kids love to eat that way!

My mom gave me one, a different brand, it was great, but honestly, I could've used my food processor instead, it gets the food pureed, too!

You are right, Marfa... a food processor would be just as good. We don't have one though, so this was perfect for us... especially since it is small!

I used my food processor with my 1st baby, but I recently got a Magic Bullet for my morning shake. I'm going to try it for baby food when we start solids next month with my little one. And probably use the processor when I make ahead in bulk.

The magic bullet was wonderful for baby food. I liked it better than my blender because you don't have to scrape arounf teh blades to get the food out.

Just be careful about ingredients, Em--I'm not sure that babies his age are supposed to have sour cream? (Not to be a wet blanket or anything! It looks like a great gadget!)

I always made our baby food too (not that any of the kids after Rachel would have anything to do with purees) but I made it in quantity and then did the frozen ice cube trick.

PS: I forgot to bring you a bag of clothes for E at the wedding! Remind me for Thanksgiving.....

We had one of those too, but the old fashioned kind with the crank, and LOVED it. Our youngest never had packaged baby food.

I love this whole set, my sister got if for me when I was pregnant with my first little one and I've used it faithfully! The manual one is great for on the go meals. I just pack the fruit and veggies along with it or add some of whatever we're having and crank it out!
