So Long Paper Napkins...

Today was the last day for paper napkins in our house. I have always wanted to use cloth napkins for dining and my desire was strengthened by a visit to a home where everyone (including three little girls - ages five, three, and nearly one) ate with white cloth napkins on their laps... but the thought of all those stains! Any tips?

We use cloth napkins in our home but they are different colors so I don't have experience with white ones but you could try some bleach if you have tough stains. Also vinegar might work.

Mine are navy damask. My helpful hint, I guess, is, buy napkins that are dark with a print or pattern!

The Bleach Pen works wonders on my little girls' clothes, though. That would probably help. Also, if you have a bad stain problem, launder them like diapers - soak them until you are ready to wash. And perhaps buy red napkins for spaghetti night.

I've used cloth napkins exclusively now for many years. Even for picnics and BBQs.
White as well as colors. For whites, I just use bleach.
Congratulations on your decision!
