Though St. Nicolas Day was on December 6th, I forgot to post photos of the treats that Papa Bear left in our shoes in honor of St. Nicolas! Since it was Baby's first St. Nicolas Day, it was pretty exciting!
Thanks Mrs. B.! We have a couple shots of the baby attacking the shoes... She was obviously more interested in the shapes and colors than the candy. I have a serious sweet-tooth and enjoyed her share:)
Do you all use Papa for your husband's name? I was shocked to find out that what was my husband expected to be called by our babies (he's European). We didn't discuss it before we had children! Now it's the best name ever to my ear.
Yes, we use Papa (or Papa Bear) for my husband. It is very unusual to hear of other people using that particular name! Both my husband and I called our fathers that (though my husband and his brothers later shortened it to "Pop").
One of my friends (She is of Indian and Russian decent and grew up in Hong Kong) and her husband (a Russian who grew up in Brussels) have their children call their father Papa too... it sounds like Puh-pah (both have an accent), while we pronounce it Paa-paa. How do your children pronouce it?
