Toys, Toys, and More Toys...

One of the things that I like most about the Pottery Barn Kids catalog is that they have beautiful, creative, and well-made toys that are very gender specific. They are one of the few popular shops that seem to really celebrate girls being girls and boys being boys. Unfortunately, their products are quite expensive. Hop over to Frugal Hacks and their article and comments on using these free catalogs as a resource for improving your surroundings!

Wow! Those pictures are so cute! I love all the girly things for girls. I only have boys (four to be exact) and I really noticed how my boys gravitated to boyish things like trucks, GI Joes and hotwheels. I also showed them the softer side of things to help encourage them to be good fathers, like they had teddy bears and we made beds for them with blankeys etc.

Have a beautiful day! Sharon

The Ikea catalog and stores usually has lots of good things for girls too. Right now Target seems to also have nice sets of things. I have found a lot of the old metal cook sets in the antique stores and many are realy cheap. Many things can be gathered to look like sets,... like found things at garage sales or used stores. I have found metal candy molds or tiny loaf pans made for adult use but so small they look like kids sets etc...also small plastic bowls and such and small wisks I think for drinks but look like a childs play thing etc. There are many dishes and such tht are unbreakable and small for their use. Big lots has kids metal garden tools and sometimes small brooms etc. I gathered a lot of such easily for my grandchildren. Sometimes we are given sample plastic bottles of dish detergent or cereal and they can be emptied and played with etc. The list is endless isen't it. Your blog is so wonderful. I have really enjoyed it.
