Yarn Along...

This past week was a rough one for our family...  all three little ones were sick with strep, a stomach virus, or a combination of the two.  We also had lots of company and the start of putting in the tile floor in the church!  Because of all that, I only picked up my knitting once the whole week!  Once I took it up again on Monday evening, I was really worried that I wouldn't be able to remember what to do.  Thankfully that was not a problem!

I have six waffle knit dishcloths completed right now.  It is still quite easy for me to loose my place (I've yet to turn out a perfect one!), but I feel like I am getting a bit better at keeping track!  Now that our sicknesses seem to be under control, Sugar Plum and I are hoping that we can pop over to the knitting shop this Saturday for a bit of a lesson.  She is still doing wonderfully on her knitting!  She lugs her knitting basket around wherever she goes!

We're listening to Little Town on the Prairie right now and enjoying it so much!  I can't believe that we only have two more books in the series to listen to after this!

Come tell us what you are reading and knitting!

Life can get tough when all your kids are sick. Hope everyone is 100% soon! I love those dishcloths....I knit one and it surely wasn't perfect. You've inspired me to try them again. It's such a fun pattern. Stopping by from Yarn Along.

Perfection is only achieved in heaven! Think of your knitting like your soul...a work in progress. And also like our souls, although not perfect, may still be used for the purpose for which it was created. Thank goodness!

Such fun to follow along on your days, though I'm saddened to hear of the sicknesses. Boo. Boo. Boo. I hope everyone is well soon!

I recently finished a crocheted baby blanket for a new little niece, due in September, and then popped over to a knitting project that sat in a basket for an entire year. I lugged it all over town for about two weeks and bound it off, and finished it!!! Yippee. I'm a horrible knitter, but determined not to give up. And now I'm back to crocheting a hand towel for the kids' bathroom, and thinking of joining you in your knitting of all those bright white dishcloths! Wonderful.

Oh, reading! Moving through My Warrior Saints with my busy six year old, and slowly making my way through Ann Voskamp's, One Thousand Gifts.

Sending you all love...

Thanks, Ladies!

Annon., I got the yarn from Walmart. It's Peaches and Cream and the whole thing was about $8!

July 2010- August 2011 was our year of non-stop illness at our house. It began with a mysterious virus, spiraled into months of reoccurring strep infections, pink eye, stomach bugs, croupe, pneumonia, etc., etc., and eventually ended with a BANG: Lice. Thanks be to God, it's been a better year this year. I will never, ever take good health for granted again! I hope you all recovery very soon, and continue to stay healthy for quite some time!
