This is absurd isn't it? I posted about this last week as well. I hope more and more people find out about this and call their senators and congressmen!
I can't believe the absurdity of this no matter how many times I read it. Me thinks that handmade & second hand must be becoming too much big Big Corporate America to handle, leaving execs shaking in their boots, if laws are being passed to hurt the little guys. This is much like the insane laws & regulations placed on small farmers, all while the big guys poison us with tainted lettuce & spinach, over & over again.
If the big guys don't want to lose money, perhaps making wise, ethical choices would be the way to start, not lobbying to change laws, taking the choice away from consumers. After all, voting with the pocketbook and feet is typically far more powerful than voting at the ballot box.
