Oh, so clothes are *supposed* to fit.....

Tired of trying to find clothes that fit my long arms and torso and getting sick of having my wrists peeking out from every shirt I own and my lower back being bared every time I knelt or reached down, I bought several turtlenecks from Gap's tall section.

I am never going to buy regular length clothes again!

It is so wonderful to wear things that fit! I feel so much better when I get dressed! It is such a great feeling and I don't know why I didn't do it sooner! If your clothes don't fit properly, find some that do or tailor the ones that you already own so that they work. Come back and thank me later! I'll just be sitting here admiring my long, long sleeves...

From one tall girl to another--Thank God for The Gap, J Crew and other retailers who have finally realized that we need clothes that fit.

I know what you mean.. my husband has the exact same problem.. ;)

He's very slim and very tall, and therefor almost unable to buy nice clothes, especially sunday suits that don't look VERY oversized..

Right now we have a store that has a 'tall and slim' section as well.. For the first time, he's able to buy a pair of pants that stay on without having to use a belt!

Greetings from the netherlands ;)

As a short person, I have to agree with you and the previous commenter: Thank God for the GAP and their petites! :-)

I have long arms too--but I can't bear to have sleeves come down as far as my wrist bones. Everything has to be folded up or pushed up!

Wonderful! I agree, good fitting clothes are really key.

I have serious monkey arms--nothing comes down to my wrists. But I just can't spend the kind of money that teh Gap wants for their shirts.

When Rave was still around I could usually find cute sweaters in there that had extra long arms. But, alas, they closed last year:(

I'd also like to suggest www.shadeclothing.com.

They have sales going most of the time and the clothes really last. I've had four shirts for three years and they still look brand new!

I didn't realize that Gap had long shirts! I bought their jeans when I was in school and had more money for clothes (and wore jeans regularly) but I haven't shopped there much since then.

I have really long arms but a terribly short torso (and super long legs). My oversized bust makes up for the length in the torso, so I can wear long shirts easily. I will have to go browse their clearance racks when I have a few extra dollars.

I always push my sleeves back unless they're actually long enough to cover my wrists. Most of the year I wear tank tops though :D Never an issues with sleeve length there. But I am getting of a certain age (and arm flabbiness) where I am not sure that tanks are entirely appropriate outside the home. I might have to start looking at cap sleeves.

Thanks for the suggestion!! I often forget your blog because it's not in a prominent place on my blog list, but I think I need to move it. It is always such a blessing to me.

Thank you for the compliments, Mrs. Kamorri! It sounds like you have the same figure as me! I am 5"11 and have a 32 inch inseam and very short torso!
