These poor plants have survived a city of Japanese beetles, serious neglect, and days when a not even a drop of water is given to them... They not only survive, but they bloom! Geraniums, I love you!
geraniums are my absolute favorite flower. I buy them every year and put them in planter boxes on our front porch (I always buy red because our house has red accent colors and the front door is red, too). I have some beautiful pictures of huge geraniums that I took when we were in Greece (in my dad's village).
We had friends who left their geraniums in their garage (a garage in Russia: think metal box in freezing weather) for a whole winter. They didn't expect to have anything left, but when they opened the garage in spring, the plants were coming back!
I like the way they look, too, but I can't stand their smell when I'm pregnant. My husband has gotten tired of me throwing them away and doesn't buy them anymore.
