Autumn Wardrobe...

Wool Plaid Shawl

Boatneck Tees with 3/4 sleeves

Warm Topper for Blustery Days

Knee-length Knit Skirts with fold over tops

Bootcut Corduroy Trousers

Fancy Dress

Lightweight Raincoat

My Autumn and Winter Handbag

Brown Leather Boots

Wedding rings and earrings (the earrings are worn one pair at a time)

Watch and bracelets (the bracelets are worn one at a time)

These items are the workhorse staples of my Autumn wardrobe this year.  I really tend toward wearing the same favorites day after day, and these photographs reflect that.  I do have other things in my wardrobe to mix it up when I need to, but my friends will tell you that these clothes are probably worn every time they see me!  I really like the colors that are represented here (black, white, navy, charcoal, silver, brown, and camel).  Anytime I deviate from this palette, I don't feel comfortable.  I have been mixing black and brown/camel for a few seasons now, and I love it!  I used to be a very black shoes/black handbag sort of girl, but I have come to realize that camel works a little better than black for me because it looks good with either black or brown.

Some other things that I wear on a regular basis:
Cardigans (black, navy blue, turquoise, and cheetah print)
Oblong scarves for covering my head in Church
Black Leggings
Black Tights (opaque and lacy)

Some things that I'd like to add over time:
Boatneck tee with 3/4 sleeves in white with black stripes
Corduroy skirt (in the same color as my cord trousers)
Dark brown cardigan
Wool coat
Quilted jacket
Camel leather brogues
Camel leather boots
Shearling boots
A Chunky Charcoal Gray Cowl (working on that now!)

Annual Upkeep
I take my jewelry to a jeweler that I trust to be checked, repaired if necessary, and polished.
My boots and handbag go to a local cobbler to be polished and repaired if necessary.
I bring my wool scarf and coats to the dry cleaner to be repaired and cleaned.

I'd love to see what's in your autumn wardrobe!

I love your wardrobe! It is simplistic, lovely, fashionable, classic, comfortable....

I am in the process of rethinking my wardrobe. I have so many pieces from so many eras and several sizes in my life. So, for now, it is hideous and functioning. I should take a page from your book.

Thank you! I like your color palette and love the boots-- I've been looking for a similar pair but since I wear a size 10 shoe and have very straight legs, tall boots tend to flop around on my legs! I noticed that there are no jeans here, do you wear them? Just curious!

I have been there, Kate! It's hard to have a pretty wardrobe when one's body is fluctuating with pregnancy, nursing, and age!

Thanks, New Mom! I bought the boots last year on a big sale at the Cole Haan outlet near us. If you have one nearby, I would check them out. I wear a size 10 and have skinny calves and these fit well!

I don't wear jeans currently... I have to admit that my kids don't either, but I have been considering changing that for them though. I have nothing against jeans though!

Love it! I don't wear jeans much either, unless perhaps for cleaning day... (which was today; wait to you see the picture of my candle sticks, I polished them!)...

Maybe I will do a wardrobe post sometime... I must say I love my long j jill skirts of two or so years back... wish they made them still! :)

M. Emily-
Where did you get those skirts? I love wearing skirts like that with tights and boots.

I hope that you do a post Elizabeth! I love to see what other people are wearing!

Hi Tanya!

I bought the skirts three or four years ago at the Gap Outlet in our area. Land's End had similar skirts though! They often have sales, so I would sign up for e-mails! Often things go on sale for 30 or 40% off.

Classy! I love it. Thanks for sharing your autumn wardrobe. I'd love to share my favorites... maybe I'll post something later this week :) I must admit, I can relate so much to Kate's "hideous and functioning" comment! Ha! :D

I'm having such a hard time this fall since the baby is still nursing throughout he day. And I have barely lost any of the baby weight so very few of my skirts fit. I still haven't really unpacked my winter clothes yet so maybe I'll stumble upon some stuff when I do.

Might you share where you bought some of these pieces?
