My favorite movies are set during the 1930's. I really love the fashion, femininity, and elegance of that time period. This past Sunday, I watched Upstairs, Downstairs on Masterpiece Theater
and was so inspired! What is your favorite time period in the movies? Do you look for ways to add the style of that time period to your modern, everyday attire? Please tell me that I am not the only one!
I like the 30's, but I love the 40's!
I love fashions from the early 19th century straight through until about 1962/63. Watching US/DS Sunday night I thought Keeley Hawes looked absolutely gorgeous.
The 30's are perfect!
I like the new masthead
I love the fashion of the '30's, as well! I must confess to having a few regency gowns in my possession, too. ;)
I love the 1940's WWII/Big Band era. I love movies set in this time period, as well as, the fashion. I've had vintage purses, shoes and skirts from this time period, oh and a few necklaces and earings. ;)You're not the only one. -I enjoy it a lot.
Sorry, but I am a fifties girl. I love the full skirts (a tiny waist helped,) and a pair of heels...and the pearl necklace, of course!
Just think Grace Kelly!
You are not alone! I love 1930s, as well as 1940s, fashion.
Was the Upstairs Downstairs good? I missed last week, but I'm hoping to catch up!
I'm new here by the way -- hello!
J'ADORE the 1930s. Especially the Upstairs Downstairs version! Wasn't it good?
Lately I've been trying to style my hair in a sort of 30's-esque style. It works best for low buns I find.
Rather loving Lady Agnes's gold dress too!
You are not alone
:) Late 1920' and early1930's are my favorites- not only clothing and hair, but also the spirit, values and rolemodels.
Hope you may find some nice information here
Definitely, you're so not alone. I used to believe I had to have been born in the wrong time. I've been through 1940's phase, Victorian phase and now Edwardian Era phase (early 1900s England) and watching way to many Merchant Ivory films. I so wish we still had a "tea time". Wouldn't it be great to say to someone "Oh, please do stay for tea!"
I love the 20's and 40's and no, I don't add it to my everday lifestyle.
