Thanks for sharing this. I love the idea of the rainbow. If my family is starting to feel better maybe I can actually get to the store to pick up supplies for St. Patrick's Day. I had some great plans, but this stomach virus is going to make it difficult for the children to actually do any of them. We will, at the very least, read some books on St. Patrick. :)

I had so much fun explaining the Trinity to my class the way Saint Patrick did--by using a shamrock. We had just learned how to cut out paper hearts for Valentine's Day last month, so everyone made a green heart. Then each group of three children wrote, "Father" or "Son" or "Holy Spirit" on their hearts. Put them together with a "Blessed Trinity" stem, and you have a shamrock!

They went up on the bulletin board with the quote, "Even the plants of the field tell about God. The shamrock has three leaves but only one stem. Father, Son and Holy Spirit are not three gods, but one God.”
