Nesting...

Now that things are unpacked from our move and we've gotten back into our daily routines, I have a little time for my favorite activity: nesting. When we put this rickety glass fronted bookshelf back together after the move, some of the brackets that hold the shelves in place were missing. After weeks of looking at books lined up neatly on two shelves and then some piled haphazardly on the others, I finally took a trip to the hardware store and got what we needed. My new favorite way to organize books is by color... don't they look pretty?

LOL this made me laugh. My husband is like an absent minded professor, but one thing he will not budge on is the books must be organized by Dewey Decimel system! I kid you not!!!

In his defense he has a LOT of books and does a LOT of research, but it takes us HOURS to set up our books LOL...

I never thought of organizing my books by color. I love it! I'll have to give it a try with my own.

Jamie, I have my books arranged by the DDS too. Your DH is not alone!

Emma, these look so pretty! I have the little guy's books organzied by size. :-p I see you have a copy of The Busy Book too. Is that the toddler or preschool edition?

I've never seen by color before, very pretty.

I'm by genre, mostly.

I usually organize by author or genre, but I will have to give this a try! It looks so pretty! Thank you for the inspiration.

I knew someone once who did the opposite to you - they covered every book they owned with white paper so that they didn't clash with the decor!

Smart! They look wonderful by color. My brain works funny in that I would probably remember the color of the book before I would remember the title, so it would really help me! I was going to blog about my bookshelf in the future, you should visit my site and check it out.
