I found this small pot of roses at the market today and since they were inexpensive, I decided to purchase them. I placed them on my dressing table and have found that the green really beings the room to life! I plan on making sure that every room in our home has some sort of plant in it this Fall and Winter. It really makes a difference!
What feminine touches have you brought into your home lately?

Plants really do add so much life and color to a room. Yesterday I put a vase of blue bachelor button flowers on my desk. Lovely. :-)
That is so beautiful--Touches of God's creations in our homes are such blessings; unfortunately my cat eats all live plants and flowers except for cacti. When I have any live flowers I have to refrigerate them unless I am watching them!! I love my cat; but when he dies I will rejoice at having flowers and not fake stuff!!!!
wooops--you asked what feminine touches--this may not be feminine, but we had the start of our Fall Bible study at our home tonight and what a blessing to have a mixed group of folk--a lot that I don't know. My in-laws came and it was so good to see them getting some long overdue fellowship. AHHH--the feminine touch was that I lighted a bunch of candles all over the house--pumpkin ones, vanilla, etc. I also cooked ginger snap cookies and the fragrance in the house was wonderful.!!!
It sounds like the Bible Study at your home was really cozy, Nanny Kim! I's like to make our Coffee Hour room a little more homey...
That is so pretty! I have two plants in my house now - a peace lily and an African Violet. The African Violet is just starting to bloom, after many months of not blooming. I haven't been successful in getting the peace lily to rebloom in over a year! But it is growing well, so it adds a nice touch of green to my hall area.
I bought a mini-rosebush this spring...sadly it didn't survive! Right now I have some kind of small green plant (was a gift) and a mother of 1000s. My goal last winter was to add more houseplants, but I never did. I should make more of an effort this season, at least in the rooms where we spend most of our time.
I recently prettied up our master bathroom, which was cold and sterile, all tiles and white paint. I added a translucent rose-covered roman blind, a little white bamboo shelf unit that stands on the windowsill and holds scented bath oil bottles and vintage books and some lavendar candles. The atmosphere is much improved. Thanks for the inspiration to increase the feminine touches in our interiors!. Gill.
