Mmmm, Mmmm, Good...

During our most recent doctor's visit, we were told to increase our little one's caloric intake as much as possible. Since she is only sixteen pounds (less than the 5th percentile as compared to her height which is in the 50th percentile), the doctor suggested foods like full fat milk (which is always recommended), butter, bread, pasta, ice cream, meats, cheeses, etc. One dessert our lucky little duck has been enjoying is a pudding parfait - chocolate on the bottom and vanilla on the top! Of course it is made with whole milk AND is calling my name from the kitchen!

Hi Emma! It's Caitlin from the Yahoo group. My son Gabe was in the 95th percentile for height and the 75th percentile for weight for most of his first 8 or so months. then he slowly stopped gaining eight at all. At his 2nd year appointment he was found to be anemic. This even though I feed him a very healthy diet, NT-type! And now he is in the 25th percentile for height and weight. We just found out that he is gluten intolerant (Celiac Disease.) One of the first indicators among children is slow or stunted growth. Check out these sites: www.celiaccentral.org and also https://glutenfreequiz.com/TakeSurve...=3J25l3KJ79m31 that one is a quiz you can take.

Good luck! The pudding looks yummy!

How is she doing on the milk? I had a go-around with our ped. about milk for DS. She was concerned one about his calcium intake (ignoring the fact that he still nurses 6-10x a day) and two because since age two months he's dropped from above the 95th to the 50th percentile (1 yr).

Caitlin, that's interesting info about celiac disease. We just had DS's bloodwork done, and he wasn't anemic, but I'm going to file that info away, just in case!

My kids are always near the 5th percentile themselves, but they consistantly grow there so no worries.

Yum, that does look lovely! I can hear it calling MY name too!
