This and That...

It was a rainy day yesterday, so we all worked on finishing up the puzzle that I began on Monday night.  It occurred to me that puzzles are an excellent learning tool (aside from the obvious fact that one works on figuring out how to put something together!) and would be very useful for art history and artist studies.  We really looked at the colors, patterns, and details of this puzzle and enjoyed the beautiful image as we put it together.  I love that this particular puzzle came with a high quality poster that we can hang up...  I just have to work out what will be the most cost-effective (yet beautiful!) way to hang it, as it is a strange dimension.

:::::

 Every morning after breakfast and prayers, we get our school work done.  Button is only four and hasn't begun formal lessons, so he hangs out with us in the playroom and colors, reads books, plays with Lego blocks or the marble run, and eats (endless) snacks.  So far, he's been pretty easy going this school year while I work with the older two children.  He's growing up and it is hard to believe that next autumn he will be a kindergartener.  Time is flying.

:::::

Tonight we'll have ravioli and meatballs for dinner and then we'll head out to see the sunset so that Father John can try a new photography skill that he's learned.  The children love going out after dinner (it almost always means a later bedtime)...  maybe we'll bring along a thermos of hot chocolate to enjoy in the chilly twilight air.
