Today, the little ones in our church dressed up as angels and saints for our Saint Michael's Day party. Our two older children decided to go as their patron saints. I wish that I knew how to sew... the costumes would be a lot nicer if I could! Tomorrow, we have Liturgy at a neighboring parish and I hope to surprise the children with sugar cookies in the shape of angels. Later in the week, we celebrate Saint Martin. I'll be posting more on our celebration later, but there are few a links on my sidebar to tide you over!

how lovely. I don't know how to sew either... somehow I think I won't learn any time soon...
blessed feast this week!
How sweet! What a nice idea. I just woke up from a blessed nap (and thank goodness my horrible headache is gone!) and can only be thankful that mine didn't have anything more exciting than dinner to do tonight!
Seriously though, that's a lovely idea and I don't think I've ever heard of it. We did sing Many Years to my own little Michael at church today.
What a wonderful way to spend the day! Thanks for sharing!
Great idea....the party. Hmmm. Have a blessed week!
The costumes look fantastic! You had no reason to fret. I'm sure the kiddos loved them!
I wish our parish made a bigger deal of this feast. We did have Vespers last night and Liturgy this morning, but it wasn't something that the children felt very included in. It was nice to take our children to Liturgy this morning and explain to them about the angels, especially Michael. I am trying to incorporate St. Michael into our learning and feasting today. A post on my blog will come later (hopefully tonight) :)
It's my Patron Saint Day but I had to miss Liturgy due to work.
What a wonderful idea for your parish! And, cute photos
