Somehow, I totally forgot to post about Saint Emilia on her feastday (May 8th). I am very honored to be named for this saint as she was a wonderful example of wife and mother!
Troparion (Tone 1)
This icon of Saint Emilia was done by my friend, Paul Drozdowski, a wonderful Iconographer. He also wrote this icon of Saint Emilia that we have in our icon corner.

May I please ask (very respectfully) what part the 'saints' play in your beliefs? Do you pray to them, or just acknowledge the goodness of their lives? Also, what is your namesday? Is that your birthday? Regards, Jen.
oops! Never mid about the namesday question. *smile* Next time I'll read the links first!
Don't worry about it! :) I forgot that I had described it in last years post and was planning on writing a new post!
That is a beautiful icon! Happy belated Namesday!
Happy belated Nameday, Matushka! What a wonderful icon this is!
(By the way, you should see the word verification I just had to type in -- it looked like my stepfather's last name, which is Polish...) ;-)
Very beautiful! your friend is a very good iconographer indeed.
Happy, Happy Namesday! If I'd have had a girl, I wanted to use Amelia after my Great-Grandmother, so the name is near and dear to my heart.
I didn't know there was a St. Emilia! My daughter has that name, but I named her for St. Jerome Emiliani.
Christ is risen!
I just discovered this blog and I am very pleased riding your articles and writings:)
May that Saint Emilia blessed you for ever!
I will be very happy if we could exchange information about the Orthodox churches from our countries: Romania and America.
I'm hugging you with "saint embrace".
Many years!
This is a beautiful icon. What is written on her scroll? I love St. Emilia. I found your site because I was looking for an icon of her for our prayer corner. Both of your icons for her are wonderful. What a blessing.
