Did you wash the dishes before you put them in the dishwasher? This is why we do them by hand. I don't like trying to figure out how to put them in there, etc.
Normally, I rinse with water and then put them in the dishwasher. Our dishwasher has been giving me trouble lately, so I've been scrubbing a bit before they go in.
