Thanks for all your great suggestions! I love many of the ones you listed as well as The Muppet Christmas Carol, The Holiday and It's A Wonderful Life.
Many of my favorites are classics, It's A Wonderful Life, being my all time favorite! But there is also Christmas in Connecticut (which I think YOU especially will love), and The Homecoming, which was how the TV series The Waltons began. And speaking of The Waltons, see if you can put your hands on a copy of Yes Virginia There is A Santa Claus starring Richard Thomas (John Boy). It came out on DVD a couple of years ago. I absolutely love it! Also, An Avonlea Christmas is lovely, I think both you and your daughter will enjoy it. Also, look up The Christmas Oranges, I think your daughter will enjoy it, as well, and probably your boys too. Take Joy and Take Peace are absolutely delightful! I am a BIG fan of Tasha Tudor and I actually own both on DVD. We watch A LOT of Christmas movies around here, but he ones I've listed are my must sees. <3
Me again. I just checked Prime, and you can rent Christmas in Connecticut for $1.99 and you should and then you should buy a copy for yourself to enjoy every year. The Homecoming is free on You Tube, just search "The Homecoming" and it will come up The Waltons Christmas Movie: The Homecoming. Yes, Viriginia There Is a Santa Claus is ALSO free on You Tube, just type in the name it will come up with the title and (1991) at the end. You can also rent it from Prime for $2.99, but the quality of the one on You Tube looks good to me. I didn't find An Avonlea Christmas, so maybe try the library? It's pretty cheap to purchase if you get a good used copy, but you need to know if you like it first. I also highly recommend all of the Avonlea series if you have never watched them. They are not the same as Anne of Green Gables, though a few of the characters are the same. There are like 7-8 seasons, I don't remember, but I own them all. Highly, highly recommend. Your whole family could enjoy them! Christmas Oranges is available on Prime but you have to subscribe to a channel. However, both channels that have it offer a free trial, so I suggest doing the free trial to see the movie then you can cancel it. Just don't forget to cancel! :) Let me know if you watch any of these and what you think. <3
Remember the Night is a vintage romance Christmas movie. Lovely. Since You Went Away starts on Jan. 12th and ends on Christmas Eve. I love it. The Bishop's Wife is an all-time favorite. When you watch it imagine David Niven as the angel and Cary Grant as the bishop because that's the way it was going to be. I'm glad the did the way they did. Dark Angel is a Hallmark favorite with Joely Richardson and Gary Sinise. Mr. Magoo's Christmas Carol is a childhood favorite (cartoon), Beyond Tomorrow was just colorized. It is a beautiful film about immortality and redemption. I cry when I watch for all those I've lost. And I love The Holiday. And all the ones you mentioned.
Remember the Night is another favorite, as well as The Bishop's Wife. I have never seen Beyond Tomorrow, I will have to check it out.
A Child's Christmas In Wales. A wonderful movie!! I am glad to see it on your list as I thought I was the only one who knew about it.
Thank you so much for all of your suggestions, Everyone! I will have quite a few films to watch on our break!
