I love that woven filing cabinet on wheels! What a great idea.
I have a desk with a drawer with hanging files in it. I use it for household, banking, tax info, medical, utility bills, insurance, etc., etc.
For my home schooling paperwork I would put each child's papers in a box, a separate box for each child. At the end of the school year, I would sort the papers, save the important ones, and put them in a notebook, one for each child. The first page in the notebook would have the child's name, grade, year, subjects, and materials used.
So at the end of my home schooling journey, each child will have a storage bin with 13 notebooks, one for each year of home schooling starting with kindergarten. I included their artwork in the notebooks too, unless they were too large or chunky or whatever and then I just made sure I put the name and date on them somewhere and put them in the child's storage bin. When my children are grown, they can each have their bin with their notebooks and artwork. They love to look through the ones already completed! I use the plastic flexible 3-ring notebooks so they don't take up as much room as the harder ones.
I have loved using a label maker for all of my file folders because it gives them a more uniform appearance. They’re also quite easy to change if I decide to repurpose my files for other things.

I definitely need to invest in a label maker, Pleximama! I love when things are tidy and uniform!
