Living and Learning: The Week Ahead

Kitchen, Pantry, Table
My little Sugar Plum baked galettes for this past Sunday's coffee hour and tried new fruit for the filling.  She made one with peaches and one with peaches and blueberries.  Though frozen peaches weren't bad, I'm looking forward to using juicy sun-ripened summer peaches and sweet blueberries right off the bush.  There's just nothing better.

On My Bedside Table
I'm slowly working my way through the Miss Buncle books and am going to be sad when they're over.  I have several books that have been recently been lent to me from a few different people, but I'm also looking forward to Good Evening, Mrs. Craven:  The Wartime Stories of Mollie Panter Downes.

Watching
I read about Ramond Briggs' upcoming cartoon Ethel & Ernest on Sunday and just loved watching the trailer.  It won't be out for awhile, but I'm really looking forward to seeing it!

In My Knitting Basket
I'm in the midst of knitting (and re-knitting) my first sock...  if I can get it right, I can see sock knitting as something I can see myself doing for a long time.  There are only so many cowls and hats one can knit and use, but socks!  Everyone needs multiple pairs!

Listening
I've been on a bit of an audiobook bender lately.  I listened to Pride and Prejudice rather quickly and moved right on to Emma, which I am enjoying very much.

Thank you for alerting us to Ethyl and Ernest. It looks like a wonderful, sweet movie and I'm looking forward to seeing it! Your blog is a breath of fresh air. I'm always glad when I see a new post. I love the way you focus on truth, beauty, and goodness and show how to live a lovely, simple life.
