This was the first week that we experimented with having Sugar Plum work on several things independently while I worked with Little Man. Previously, I would work with one child at a time, looking over Sugar Plum's shoulder for all of her work (even if she was perfectly capable of working without my micromanagement). Obviously, it took a lot longer to complete school this way. For the past few days, I have done all of Little Man's kindergarten work with him while Sugar Plum works on her daily calender, journal, spelling, phonics, and part of her math lesson. Once Little Man finishes up, Sugar Plum and I continue with her work for the day. So far it seems to be going well! Not only am I pleased with how much more efficient we've become, but I am also impressed with how much Sugar Plum can do (and do well!) on her own!
