Today is the feast of Saint Elisabeth the New Martyr and
our daughter's Namesday! We love Saint Elisabeth so much! She was the
granddaughter of Queen Victoria, became a Grand Duchess when she married
into the Russian royal family, forgave the man who murdered her
husband, sold all of her jewels and worldly possessions, and became a
nun. She served the downtrodden of Moscow along with the other nuns of
the Saints Mary and Martha convent and was arrested and martyred by the
Bolsheviks in 1918. Holy Grand Duchess Elisabeth intercede to God on
behalf of us! 🖤
