Bright Monday...

Having beheld the Resurrection of Christ, let us worship, the holy Lord Jesus, the only Sinless One! We venerate Thy Cross, O Christ, and Thy Holy Resurrection we praise and glorify; for Thou art our God, and we know no other than Thee; we call on Thy name. Come, all you faithful, let us venerate Christ’s Holy Resurrection! For, behold, through the Cross joy has come into all the world. Let us ever bless the Lord, praising His Resurrection. For by enduring the Cross for us, He has destroyed death by death!

We woke to a very cool and foggy Bright Monday, but the sun was shining by the afternoon!  There was Liturgy at the local Greek Church for Saint George's feast day (moved to Bright Monday from April 23rd which was Lazarus Saturday) and we were able to enjoy a lovely luncheon with the parish afterward.  The children received new bathing suits, towels,, and goggles in their Pascha baskets, so a trip to the beach was almost necessary.  It was not warm enough to put more than our toes in the sea and we only lasted about ten minutes, but it was worth it!  We took a long stroll on the boardwalk to warm up.  Vespers, a simple dinner of sandwiches (peppermill turkey, some cheese, onion, and spicy brown mustard on rye has been just the ticket!) and a long bath after the children went to sleep rounded out the day.  I hope that yours was just as lovely!
