Dress Linen

  

Some lovely linen fabric from @fabricsstorecom arrived today. Our daughter will be making two springtime dresses with it and I can't wait to see how they turn out The! She's hoping to wear the Falcon Gray dress to church on Pascha. The fabric is in the wash now and will hopefully be dried and ironed tonight. I'm also going to send the pattern to the printer this afternoon. Hopefully she'll be able to start working on the first one tomorrow.

I love these masks our son made in seventh grade social studies! He loves any project that involves a cardboard box and hot glue.

A Paper Wreath

There's something about November and December that makes me want to do all the paper crafts. I saw a paper fan wreath on @may_petschel 's feed, so naturally I had to rip up an old English Literature textbook from the thrift store to make one, too.

Embellishment

Our daughter embellished a plain white tee shirt with these gorgeous embroidered roses and leaves this afternoon. I love how they turned out!

Kapla Installation

The boys are fond of setting up elaborate scenes for their army men (many of these little men belonged to my brother when he was a boy!).  I found these guys scaling a wall in the sun room last night and couldn't wait to document the installation in the morning light.  I love the creativity that simple toys foster.  I bought these blocks for the boys over the course of a couple of Christmases.  They are natural colored Kapla blocks and despite their uniform shape, really lend themselves to the creation of amazing structures and designs.  Here's to many more years of finding these little vignettes all over our house!

Knotting Pearls

Miss Cecilia is teaching our girl how to knot a string of pearls today, while I get my heart checked out by Doctor Thea.

Airplanes

The boys are still building and painting airplanes a year later.

Clay Sunshine

I made some air dry clay things with my little English-as-a-second-language friend this week. We created a sunshine wall hanging for his mama and a pencil cup for his babushka. I'm going to try to find more of this clay (provided by his grandmother) for the trio to work with.

Making Magic

Miss Fox-Gloves

Giddy-Up Pencils!

I just LOVE the little horse pencil toppers that dear Lucy knit up for us! Aren't they charming? I really don't want to share with my children! I'm so happy that I was able to purchase them!

Prisms

I saw Pollyanna (2016) for the first time a year or so ago (I think Auntie Leila recommended it!) and loved the beautiful suncatcher Pollyanna plays with at Mr. Pendleton's house. After searching for months, I finally found some beautiful chandelier prisms at an antique store. We bought five with the intention of going back for more, but they sold out before we could! To make this long string of suncatchers, I found the tiny prisms and beads at Michael's and Sugar Plum strung them all on some stretchy bead string we already had. I love how it turned out!!

This Year's GIngerbread House

We have decorated gingerbread houses during the Twelve Days of Christmas for years now, so I picked up the prettiest little Wilton Kit at Walmart.  This was the first time that I just handed the kids the box and let them go to town without any supervision, and I just love how it turned out!

Pretty Paper Stars

I folded some pretty paper stars today while watching Chariots of Fire with my family! There's a YouTube video entitled "How to Make Simple 3D Paper Stars" by Oziy Design, if you prefer. I used a book of scrapbook paper that I found at Michaels a few weeks ago. It's full of pretty papers reminiscent of Rifle Paper Co.
