Parkington Blanket

 

 

    I cast on to this Parkington Blanket at the beginning of July and then put it aside for other pursuits. This past Saturday I spent some time knitting with some ladies at church and have picked up the needles every night since. I guess the knitting bug has bit again! I'm using Peaches & Creme cotton yarn in Ecru on size 13 needles, so this should be a quick project!

The Start of Rikke

 

 

I cast on to the hat that I am knitting a parishioner. The pattern is for a Rikke Hat. I'm not quite sure if this hat is what I will end up with, though. It may be too slouchy for the person it is intended for, but I cannot see her in a lacy hat or a more masculine ribbed hat. We'll see what happens! 

Pebble

 

 

 I am knitting a hat for a parishioner and my yarn order came today! I bought a skein of MadelineTosh dk in the colorway Pebble. I can't remember the last time that I bought MadelineTosh yarn. The colors are always so lovely and the vinegary smell of the yarn is intoxicating. I couldn't wait to wind it.

Nineteen Hundred House

 

 

I finished my seven Nineteen Hundred House dishcloths up tonight! All ends are woven in and they're ready to be pressed into service tomorrow! 

Seven Dishcloths in Seven Days

 

 

I'm attempting to knit seven dishcloths in seven days. I'm hoping to replace a few ratty ones and bulk up my dishcloth basket at the same time. The pattern is Nineteen Hundred House Dishcloth from @chalklegs. The yarn is some black cotton from our local Walmart.

This beautiful parcel was knitted up by our daughter for her lovely nurse, Gini. She's expecting her first baby in March, so our daughter knit her a Shale blanket, a bonnet, booties, and two headbands.

A New Yarn Project

It's time to start another knitting project. This yarn caked up beautifully.  It's Cascade Ultra Pima color no. 3768. It looks just like cocoa powder in real life.

Sweater Progress

I meant to take a photo yesterday of my sweater progress, but I forgot to! I was able to meet my goal of getting through all of the sleeve and body increases last week and yesterday I divided for the sleeves and knit two inches of the body. If I can knit two inches each day this week, I will be able to start the ribbing and first sleeve next week! 

Also, is there anything more delicious than leftover Chinese food for lunch?

One Sweater

I finished up the short rows for my Fibre Co. One Sweater last night. I'll be tackling the sleeve and body increases next and hope to have that done by the end of the week.

Repeat Three

Juniper Bonnet

I finished this Fox&Folk Juniper Bonnet without lace (for a recently born baby boy parishioner) in early January, but only just blocked it. We had nothing that resembled a baby's head to let the wet bonnet dry in the correct size and shape, so my daughter and I fashioned a hand towel and rubber bands into a head. It worked well!

Knitting Again

I've decided to knit a throw blanket for the living room, a useful project for two reasons: to keep me warm whilst it's on my needles and also, of course, to keep me warm once it is finished. This pile of yarn is Cascade 220 Superwash in color no. 910A, which @theloopyewe calls Winter White. I'm going to try my hand at the Parkington Throw Blanket. I really just want to watch Foyle's War and knit, but I have to be responsible and go to bed. 😤

The Foxed Quarterly

I bought the No. 32 issue of the Foxed Quarterly on Ebay before Christmas and have been really enjoying it! Their podcast is also👌.
