Sunday...

The weather was completely gorgeous today.  After Liturgy and coffee hour and a good Sunday dinner (pork loin, mashed potatoes, peas, cranberry sauce, stuffing, and gravy), we went to the beach.  It was a lot colder there than at home, so we only stayed for an hour or so.  It was good to be outside though.

I started a new knitting project (Woodsmoke Scarf) yesterday afternoon and it involved a provisional cast on for 302 stitches.  Not fun.  I'm not quite sure how this project will go...  it's a lot of garter stitch and a lacy border and some skills that I have never done before.  2015 is the year of brave knitting though!

What's on your list of food to eat before Great Lent comes?  Our top picks are ham sandwiches and hamburgers.  Simple and delicious!

All this snow makes me crave comfort food--beef stew, chicken pot pie, biscuits, pot roast, etc.

We've been eating bacon cheeseburgers, pasta e fagioli (since we stew a bone-in pork chop down in the broth for that classic Roman flavor), lots of cheese-stuffed omelettes, and pot roast.

Treated the family to barbeque the other night, as well.

We're planning to make cheesecakes for Cheesefare.

We got a break in the weather and the last few days have been in the 70s, so we're enjoying a "mini-Spring" before the Fast gets going.

We're still new to the Typikon so we're still getting used to how to do this and, advised by our pastor, doing as much as we can.

oh your table looks so pretty! :)

I just found my Lenten cookbooks...

I am hoping to make a nice Chicken and Rice casserole for my beloved Mr. Husband this week. We got some Applegate Apple Breakfast sausage too :)

Cheese, Cheese, and more cheese. For me it's the hardest thing to go with out.
