Yarn Along: Inspiration...

My little Tama is coming along nicely, but I am almost positive that it won't fit our middle child.  Thankfully, it looks like it will work well for our youngest.  I am enjoying this knit a lot (it's going quickly!) and still really like the yarn (Shepherd's Wool in the colorway Milk Chocolate).  I think that the best part of this project is that I can actually pay attention to and participate in conversations while I am knitting.  Dare I say that there will be more garter stitch sweaters in my future?

I finished At Home with Madame Chic and am now working on Lessons from Madame Chic.  Both books have been inspiring me greatly!

Well at least if it doesn't fit one child it can fit another! I had a tendency to knit garments much larger than necessary for my daughter so that we would get a few seasons out of it.

I'm with Donna, I knit things way too big for my kids hoping they can wear it for a long time...of course they only end up with one season of fitted use :-) And a simple knit where you can have conversation at the same time? Perfect!

if it's not simple I don't do it as most of my knitting is done in social settings! well, it's cool that this knit will fit the youngest! sounds like perhaps you will make a bigger one later since you are loving the garter stitch sweaters :))))

That is such a cute sweater!!! I put in my favorites. It is handy how you can pass up or down children's garments. Much better than the trouble I run into with adult garments!

It's beautiful! I really like garter stitch too - not only for the easy conversations but also for its beautiful simplicity and good stretch - it will grow with the child quite some while ;-)

one of the advantages of having kids in different sizes, what doesn't fit one will usually fit another. I looks beautiful and you are so right straight knitting works so very well with kids around.

I just had the same experience with a hat I was knitting - turned out smaller than expected but it will fit our youngest still! Such a sweet color for that yarn!

That's a very cute pattern! I'll have to consider making it in the future for our youngest.

Do you find it was okay to read in that order?...I want to read "At Home with Madame Chic" but I didn't read "Lessons" first...I thought I should read the other one first, but I am glad you are doing it in the reverse order as well...The sweater looks great so far...You have come a long way in your knitting...I am still on scarves and such :-)
