25 Ways to Wear a Scarf...

I'm sure that everyone has seen this but me, but I thought that it was such a great how-to video for scarf wearing!  I love the look of scarves and oblong ones are my favorite!  I have a bunch for head covering in church and it would be nice to incorporate some of these techniques to use my scarves to their full potential outside of services!

Bright Saturday...

Today was a good day and the perfect end to Bright Week.  I received two knitting gifts from my mother and my sister!  There is more Greek Pascha Bread rising in the kitchen for coffee hour tomorrow, and we had Chicken Caesar Salad for supper after church tonight. Can you believe that it is Mother's Day tomorrow?

Bright Friday...

How can Bright Week be nearly over?  It went too fast!  My sister is here for an overnight and we have a great day planned for tomorrow!  I decided to frog my too-big sweater just a few rows before finishing the first sleeve, and I felt strangely happy about it until I saw the photograph I took for Wednesday's Yarn Along.  It was so pretty.  It will be better in the right size though, right?  My summer sandals arrived yesterday afternoon.  Now Sugar Plum and I match!

Bright Thursday...

In our parish, Father John likes to give flowers out to the people after Great and Holy Friday Vespers and Lamentations.  I am usually the one who gets to buy the flowers and this year it was a huge basket full of tulips.  I had the hardship (ha!) of keeping the remaining flowers and they are starting to fade, but still look so lovely.  I think that tulips look their best just before they die.  These were particularly pretty ones that I put in a mason jar in our bathroom.  We had flowers in our hotel bathroom on our honeymoon and I thought that was a nice touch.  It will be sad to have to toss these!

Bright Wednesday...

I was fortunate enough to celebrate my namesday on Bright Wednesday this year!  We opted for a low key day since we were all still tired from Holy Week and Pascha.  Though it was supposed to rain, it didn't, so we headed to the boardwalk for a surrey ride (it's a bike you can rent for the whole family!) and ice cream cones!  Later that night, Father John and I watched a little television and enjoyed some take-out.  Yum!

Yarn Along: Back at it...

Well, I had the urge to return to the Tea Leaves sweater that I had shoved into a drawer.  I was able to knit several inches last night, which was exciting.  Rain is in the forecast for the next several days, so it seemed like a good time to pull this warm thing out and get it done!  I have a feeling that I will need to order more yarn, so that might put a crimp in things.  We'll see!

I'm not reading much right now, but I am hoping to pick up the May issue of Country Living UK tomorrow!

Bright Tuesday...

It was another rainy day, but we made the most of it... Lunch out, a few errands, and then a nice time spent in our cozy house listening to the pitter-patter of rain on the roof. I hope that your Bright Tuesday was just as relaxing!

Bright Monday...

Bright Monday.  One of my favorite days of the year!  We started the day with Liturgy and a breakfast of pancakes and bacon...  yum!  Though we were planning a nice trip to our little zoo (with Papa!), the weather didn't quite cooperate.  It was just was well, because Button was under the weather (he's congested and coughing) and then in the late afternoon, Sugar Plum spiked a fever.  

To hang on to a little bit of the Paschal spirit, I decided to make Greek Pascha bread.  I love it, but have never made it before (that braid seems daunting!).  Though it was darker on the bottom than I would have liked (our oven gets so very hot!), it came out well and was quite easy to make.  We'll really enjoy this for breakfast all week!
