May 18th...

It's time for another Commitment to Loveliness! This is a fun way to increase femininity and beauty in our lives each week without even trying! All you have to do is choose five things that you would like to work on or do during the week that will increase the loveliness in your life!

Here is my list for this week:

1. Clean the whole house from top to bottom!
2. Finish making, buying, and wrapping presents for our big girl's birthday.
3. Plan out all the details for coffee hour, family birthday celebration, and the party

4. Plant the potted Bleeding Heart I purchased at the health food store.

5. Take the babies Strawberry Picking and don pretty hats (at least for the girls;) )

Once you have chosen five simple things, post them on your blog and link to this post in your post, and then post the direct link to your Commitment to Loveliness post below. If you do not have a blog, but have a commitment to share, please post them in the comments section.

Edited to Add: I can't seem to get Mr. Linky to work... I'll try later, but in the meantime, post away in the comments section!!

  4. Thank you for your challenge to commit to loveliness..

I guess my five things will be to 1) finish painting my old curio cabinet a lovely sage green; 2)pot my new snapdragons; 3)put out a pretty new welcome mat (has daisies on it!); 4)be more diligent in fixing my face everyday this week; 5) play beautiful music in the home this week.

    There you go!

  5. I love this idea, and I'm glad I stubled upon your site. I've put a commitment to loveliness link on my page.

This week I will commit to:

    1. Continue my policy of creating three lovely meals a day, clean-up after each one, keep up with my daily chores, and beautify my weekly area.

    2. Plant my vegetable garden. (done)

    3. Sew a summer dress.

    4. Continue writing my children's novel loosely based on my Grandmother's life.

    5. Paint one wall of the library. Really it's just the basement, but to call it the library sounds so grand.

  6. 1. Clean
    2. Clean
    3. Clean
    4. Clean
    5. Clean some more. :-)
We’re moving into an apartment that is filthy. I was trying to think if I did anything to create beauty yesterday, and I decided that the cleaning I did was a start, even if I can’t see any yet.

By the way, where did you get the bird picture in your sidebar?

  7. Hi Phyllis!

Do you mean the bird next to my profile or the black and white bird silhouette?

  8. Hey Emma, I've been reading your blog for a while, but this is the first time I've commented! Sorry for being a lurker... But this is a wonderful idea! I put my list on my blog: http://aspaceofflowers.blogspot.com/2008/05/commitment-to-loveliness.html

You were one of the people who inspired me to join the world of blog, so thank you!

    Kit.
