I am desperate to know all of the movies pictured in this video!
Leave a comment if you can shed some light on any!

Here are the ones I caught:

Pride and Prejudice (A&E)
The Anne Series (Sullivan Entertainment)
Sense and Sensibility (Sony)
Emma (Miramax)
The Importance of Being Earnest (Miramax)

  1. That should be old-fashioned girls, not old fashion girls.

I don't mean to pick at you; I thought you might like to know.

Feel free to delete this comment after you read it. :)

    You have a lovely blog.

  2. I recognized "Wives and Daughters"(BBC. Perhaps there are clips from one of the Jane Eyre movies?
Now I'll have to see "The Importance of Being Ernest". :)

  3. Some of the clips are from "North and South" (based on a book by Elizabeth Gaskell), and I also recognized "Lorna Doone." North and South is a wonderful movie, definitely worth watching!

  5. Thanks for catching the mistake, Anonymous! I copied-and-pasted the title from the person who made it and didn't realize that it should be fixed!

  6. Oooh, these movies sound great! I thought that Jane Eyre was represented, but I wasn't sure. I've only seen the most recent PBS version. I hope that our library carries copies of these movies!

  7. Thank you for sharing this soothing clip.

Was one of the girls from "Tess" ?

I would love to know the name of the song that was playing in the background. PLEASE comment if you have an idea. I'll be checking back frequently.

  9. The other Elizabeth weighing in here:

I thought I saw clips from Jane Eyre, as well. Were there any from Mansfield Park? I didn't see a shot I could identify as certainly being from Mansfield Park, but on of the old fashioned girls looked a bit like the heroine of that movie.

If anyone does recognize the music, I'd love to know.

  10. I didn't see any from Mansfield Park. But I did see the ones from Wives and Daughters- a VERY interesting series. Which reminds me that I wanted to see about purchasing it from eBay or amazon or some such thing!

    Thanks for the reminder! :)

  11. The song that was playing in the background is from the movie "Dear Frankie." The soundtrack is beautiful, and the movie is very sweet although it has a lot of bad language.

  12. THANKYOU, Anonymous, for identifying the music. I would like to purchase the score and attempt it on the piano. We'll see....

  13. The person who posted it to YouTube put a list in their description. Here's the link at YouTube. I'm always wary of going directly to the YouTube site, since you never know what might come up on the right of screen, so I'm always glad to see the videos that you post here. This one is great! :)

  14. Loved this! My kids and I have been listening to the Focus on the Family Radio Theatre of Anne of Green Gables. I loved the Anne movies growing up and will have to find them on DVD to share with them too. Thanks for posting this!
