I was especially intrigued that they featured two knight costumes (one shield had a dragon) and the little toy dragon from Ostheimer. Coincidence for St. George's feastday? ;) WendyLady@GoodBookshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07884742120430546504noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6212550248931823866.post-8161046951099869562013-04-22T23:28:42.585-04:002013-04-22T23:28:42.585-04:00I was admiring the shade of blue you chose for the...I was admiring the shade of blue you chose for the playroom again and I was wondering what it is?Christi Xeniahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04735419505909898006noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6212550248931823866.post-90857571284269234552013-04-22T22:35:05.578-04:002013-04-22T22:35:05.578-04:00Wendy thanks for asking and Mat.Emily thank you fo...Wendy thanks for asking and Mat.Emily thank you for listing your sources. We are an older family in that the youngest is 8 and it can be tricky to find toys/activities for that age group.
Your post inspired us and today we have taken apart our main living space and reorganized it based on the true needs and interests of the people who live in it, not those who may come to visit. We feel so much better especially as we move into winter and being more indoors.

In Christ,
Alicia in New ZealandAliciahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08552619079464877619noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6212550248931823866.post-86196173171077296502013-04-22T19:37:27.257-04:002013-04-22T19:37:27.257-04:00So helpful - thank you. My youngest loved Brio trains, and we added new tracks or trains every year - we still have them to this day for children who come over with their parents (and I know my little grandson will love them someday.) By the way - my daughter read your guest post too, and loves the basket storage idea as well as the beautiful feastday areas you create!WendyLady@GoodBookshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07884742120430546504noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6212550248931823866.post-34936143806730869832013-04-22T17:09:44.881-04:002013-04-22T17:09:44.881-04:00Hi Wendy!

Our favorite shops include:

The Wooden Wagon (all of our wooden animal figures are from here... the brand is Ostheimer)
Magic Cabin
Palumba
Nova Natural

Wooden toys cane be pricy, but we have had very few break (once or twice wheels have fallen off and those can be repaired!) and they are easily passed on to other children. Our animals are not much more expensive than the nicer plastic ones that I have seen (Schleich and Safari). With birthdays, namesdays, Christmas, and Pascha and three little ones, we have amassed quite a collection even though we only add one creature at a time!

I have also found nice things on Amazon and Etsy!

I hope that helps! Let me know if you want any more info!MamaBirdEmmahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08953172914077823820noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6212550248931823866.post-1076069737543063542013-04-22T17:03:42.965-04:002013-04-22T17:03:42.965-04:00Thank you Elizabeth and Maria!Thank you Elizabeth and Maria!MamaBirdEmmahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08953172914077823820noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6212550248931823866.post-43462562970521820762013-04-22T16:02:29.234-04:002013-04-22T16:02:29.234-04:00Love your peaceful, uncluttered spaces. My kids always liked drawing, painting, and duplos and legos, but I've not seen the beautiful wooden toys you have displayed (or are they a hard plastic? - I would love to know your resource for my daughter!
