On to what we are reading: The favorite book in our home is currently Jenny and the Cat Club. We borrowed it from the library initially, but when the children begged to keep it, I gave in and ordered it from Amazon as a gift for Sugar Plum's namesday. It is a wonderful! And so captivating to my children! I have the others on my wishlist. For my personal reading, I plan on starting Our Church and Our Children, which I found on our recent trip to Saint Vladimir's Bookstore.

Congratulations on finishing your first wash cloth. I'm sure one of your neighbor's can help you cast off. I used Youtube videos which helped in the place of neighbors.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with your knitting! Once it stops being frustrating, it starts being SO fun. You'll love it when that happens.
ReplyDeleteI love knitting wash clothes! Since I have little ones, I just don't seem to have the patience for larger projects. And they are so handy to have around the kitchen (or bathroom) as well. I'm sure you will be a pro at it in no time.

Good luck knitting. Washcloths are fantastic scrubbers - just throw them in the washing machine when you're done. I taught myself to knit a couple of years ago & found the best instructions on youtube.
ReplyDeleteNice! My Oma knits all the time... :) I have yet to take it up and stick with it... maybe someday! :)
ReplyDeleteLove the car blessing pictures! esp. the little kids on bikes so CUTE...

Welcome to the wonderful world of knitting!
ReplyDeleteThere are some great videos that could help you out if you can't get back to the yarn store right away.

ReplyDeleteThe washcloth is pretty...I did my first "yarn along" last week. I struggle with knitting (but did knit myself my first pair of socks this past winter)...and find crocheting so much quicker and more satisfying.
ReplyDeleteWe'll see your little sister, Juliana, at St. Seraphim's camp very soon...it's been over 10 years since I was there last. My girls are now 8 and 10...and it'll be their 1st year there!!!
You may need a copy of Handmade Home after all! ;-)
