Handbag
With the addition of several skirts, a fleece jacket for chilly mornings, and some yoga pants for cool and rainy days at home, this should work well for the winter. I have the majority of these items from past seasons (the only things I purchased were the tee shirts from Gap Tall on sale... I told my husband to forbid me from buying shirts from anywhere else. They are never long enough from other stores and my wrists and lower back hang out at the most inopportune times). My sister's wedding is coming up in February, so I will be upgrading my dress shoes to red mary janes which will be fun and the dress that I chose for the wedding will be able to be worn on other occasions, so my church wardrobe will improve considerably.
On my wish list are: tall dressy boots (which have been on my wish list for years! I have never found the right ones), loafers for everyday wear, tights, and a few new skirts. I'll be keeping my eye out as the stores start to have sales.

What does your winter wardrobe look like? What have you added this season? What are your favorite pieces?

My winter wardobe is pathetic, but I like your list! Mind if I borrow it? :)
ReplyDeleteMy office is badly heated and draughty, so it's all wool here. Sheepskin clogs, wool skirts, wool sweaters, with cotton layers underneath. I have knit a couple of wool berets and really need to get on knitting myself wool stockings and mitts.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite: LLBean flannel lined jeans. This year I cannot find women's flannel-lined chinos. :( These make winter comfortable!
ReplyDeleteThere was an article in last Sunday's paper about a woman who's decided on owning only 33 pieces of clothing (including undergarments and hosiery) for 3 months at a time. I thought of you and your minimalist, but lovely wardrobe.
ReplyDeleteI'm given most of my clothing, with unique pieces thrown in that hubby's bought me or that I've found that I fell in love with so it is really a mish-mash of stuff and styles. My favorites this season are cardigans and two chunky but fitted cableknit sweaters. As always, I've pulled out my trusty charcoal gray, boiled wool, ankle length, princess cut winter coat.
Oh dear....mine consists of one denim skirt, a red cardigan, five tops, two pairs of tights, a pair of boots, a purple coat. I would like more, but I remind myself that nuns have far less options than I do.
ReplyDeleteI didn't even know that there is a Gap tall. I am definitely checking that out after the baby is born. Right now, I am in maternity clothes which consists of lots of 3/4 length sleeve shirts or sweaters with a pair of jeans, khakis or gray dress pants. I also wear skirts from time to time either with tall boots or tights and my regular black 'church' shoes. My wardrobe is constantly changing due to being pregnant and/or nursing on and off for the past six years.
ReplyDeleteI found that my wardrobe is much to large, and have been paring it down. I mean, who ever really wears clothes that "kind of" fit or look "sort of" stylish. I love the new tunic length tops. I just decided to add a few fun colored ones (plain t-shirt style) to my drab wardrobe that I bought on clearance for $4 a piece! I am a jean girl, so I have three pairs, and a couple of pants for church. I wish I was more into skirts, but I just am not. I love the idea of a red coat! But I probably will never do it. I have a fleece gray cape style one right now, that I adore. Most of my shoes no longer fit me, but it pains me to get rid of them. I wear a size 12 now for the most part, but keep hoping they will shrink back down to size 11! Currently I have a crazy pattern pair of crocs, tennis shoes that are technically too small, and practical black church shoes. Oh! I did however by a lovely pair of boots for Brian's Christmas party, and am excited to have them! You always look so put together, and I always feel a little casual, but I am not really sure where to make changes.
ReplyDeleteWhat do you wear under the Gap tees to provide coverage for your chest? They look low-cut, and for shirts like that I've tried cami tops but those always show more than is appropriate and I feel so uncomfortable. I'm wondering if you've found a solution?
ReplyDeleteThey are low cut, Jen! I have a few tanks with lace at the neckline that help in that department.
