This week, I'll be spending most of my time in the kitchen getting things straightened up. I didn't work on the kitchen counters or decor as I had planned on Friday and I've run out of dusting cloths that I use for the baseboards, so those things will have to be added to this week's chores. Any tips for cleaning a really filthy and stained metal sink? I'd love to just be able to snap my fingers and have it sparkle!I can't wait to get through this week's cleaning, because then the fun of Paschal clothing, baskets, flower planting, etc. starts!

Here's an article that a lot of people have recommended in the past: http://www.flylady.net/pages/FLYingLessons_Shine.asp
ReplyDeleteI second Michelle's recommendation. I use the FLY Lady's sink shining routine a few times a year and it works really, really well.
ReplyDeletehave not looked at Fly lady but I recomment comet... :)
ReplyDeleteI also agree with Flylady.
ReplyDeleteMr. Clean's Magic Eraser. Seriously.
ReplyDeleteOne of the biggest helps to me was after I got my sink shining. (I used flylady's method as well) I use car wax to keep it shiny and new looking. I use "turtle wax" but any will do. It has been an invaluable tip I learned some time ago.
ReplyDeleteI've heard vinegar for metal sinks. We have a porcelain sink, though, so I use bleach!
ReplyDeleteMy recommendation for a filthy metal sink is Bon Ami and a copper scrubber. I love those copper scrubbers.
ReplyDeleteI do baking soda + vinegar then scrub with a Dobie sponge (my favorite household tool).
ReplyDeleteThanks for all of the tips everyone! I am excited to try them out:)
ReplyDeleteI asked my husband to use the FlyLady method for cleaning the sink, and it was amazing.
ReplyDeleteI haven't tried this, but it looks interesting, and easy to try: http://lifehacker.com/5500462/use-flour-to-polish-stainless-steel
